Japan’s Nojima Corporation has announced its decision to provide JPY 200 million to support child-focused projects run by the Olena Zelenska Foundation.
According to Ukrinform, Ukraine’s First Lady Olena Zelenska said this in a post on Facebook.
During her visit to Japan, Zelenska and her foundation’s team met with Hiroshi Nojima, President of Nojima Corporation — one of Japan’s largest electronics and digital technology retail chains.
The company’s president announced the decision to allocate JPY 200 million to support the foundation’s initiatives.
“This is a significant contribution to strengthening our key areas of work,” Zelenska said.
She noted that the meeting was especially meaningful to her:
“At the very beginning of the full-scale invasion, Mr. Nojima personally provided financial assistance to Ukrainians forced to evacuate to Japan. At a time when thousands of families had to leave their homes, this support was a powerful gesture of compassion and humanity,” she said.
Zelenska added that Nojima Corporation continues to support Ukrainians, particularly children. In partnership with JICA and the Yokohama municipality, the company launched its own initiative to donate laptops to schools in Odesa. Thanks to this project, hundreds of Ukrainian students were able to resume their education, stay connected with teachers, and preserve a sense of normalcy amid the war.
