Russian troops have significantly ramped up assault operations in the Kherson direction, particularly across the island zone of the Dnipro River Delta.
This was reported by Vladyslav Voloshyn, spokesperson for the Southern Defense Forces, during a televised broadcast, according to Ukrinform.
“Over the past few days, the enemy has notably increased the number of assaults not only in the Kherson direction but across the entire island zone — from Kozulyskyi and Zabych islands in the south to the Antonivskyi rail and road bridges,” Voloshyn stated.
He noted that Russian forces are currently conducting one to two assault operations on the islands of Zabych, Velykyi Potemkin, and Bilohrudyi.
“The enemy is attempting to gain control of this island zone to approach the main channel of the Dnipro and launch assault operations aimed at landing on the right bank. However, the entire area remains under the control of the Ukrainian Defense Forces, and we are successfully repelling all enemy attempts to establish footholds,” Voloshyn emphasized.
As Ukrinform reported, the Ukrainian Defense Forces and Russian troops engaged in 143 combat clashes over the past day, with the Russian army launching its most intensive attacks in the Pokrovsk sector of the frontline.
