
Russian authorities have reported fires at the Afipsky oil refinery and a military facility following a drone attack in the Krasnodar Territory.
The attack was reported by the Astra Telegram channel, as cited by Ukrinform.
Local residents also reported that military unit 61661 in Sloviansk-on-Kuban caught fire after the UAV strike. This information was later confirmed by Russia’s emergency situations center (the Unified State System for the Prevention and Elimination of Emergencies).
Krasnodar Territory Governor Veniamin Kondratiev stated that the drone attack was repelled in the waters off the coast of Novorossiysk, according to the Baza Telegram channel. Novorossiysk is home to a major port, the Novorossiysk fuel oil terminal, and the Transneft terminal.
Separately, another UAV strike was reported in Surovikino, located in Russia’s Volgograd region.
“Last night, Russia’s Defense Ministry reported that air defense forces repelled a UAV attack targeting facilities in the Volgograd region. No casualties were reported. A fire broke out at the administrative building of the Surovikino railway station and is currently being extinguished by firefighters,” stated regional governor Andrey Bocharov.

The Russian Defense Ministry claimed that overnight, air defense systems intercepted and destroyed 82 Ukrainian UAVs. According to the ministry, 31 drones were shot down over the Sea of Azov, 11 over annexed Crimea, 10 in Rostov region, nine in Krasnodar Territory, eight over the Black Sea, seven in Volgograd region, four in Belgorod region, and one each in Kursk and Orel regions.
As earlier reported by Ukrinform, the Ryazan oil refinery, operated by state-owned Rosneft, has shut down approximately half of its processing capacity following a Ukrainian drone strike on August 2.
