The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has confirmed a strike on the Saratov oil refinery in the Russian Federation.

According to Ukrinform, the General Staff reported this on Facebook.

“Last night, the Unmanned Systems Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, in cooperation with other branches of the Defense Forces, struck the Saratov oil refinery (Saratov region, Russian Federation). As a result of the strike, explosions and a fire were recorded on the territory of the enterprise,” the statement said.

As noted by the General Staff, the Saratov oil refinery is one of the key fuel infrastructure facilities in the Russian Federation involved in supplying Russian troops with petroleum products. Its annual processing capacity is up to 7 million tons of oil.

“The Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to systematically take measures aimed at reducing the enemy’s military and economic potential to force it to stop its armed aggression against our state.
