Nothing about Ukraine without Ukraine: Zelensky hopes Trump understands this

Negotiations between US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin may be important for bilateral relations between these countries, but no decisions regarding Ukraine can be made at this meeting.

According to a Ukrinform correspondent, this was stated by President Volodymyr Zelensky during the Ukrainian Youth Forum 2025: Youth Here!

“As for the talks, they are important at the leadership level in any case. But it is impossible to talk about Ukraine without Ukraine, and no one will accept that. Therefore, the conversation between the President of the United States—and we support the United States—and Putin can certainly be important for their bilateral track, but they cannot decide anything about Ukraine without us. I believe and hope that the President of the United States understands and realizes this,” he said.

Zelensky noted that a trilateral meeting at the leadership level will take place, but the date has not yet been determined. “Stand by the truth, your truth. Do everything to end this war. There are things that are in your heart, there are things that are in the Constitution,” he emphasized.
