Since the beginning of the day, there have been 67 combat clashes between the Ukrainian Defense Forces and Russian troops on the frontline, most of them in the Pokrovsk sector.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported the update on Facebook, according to Ukrinform.
“At present, the enemy has attacked the positions of the Defense Forces 67 times,” the report said as of 16:00.
According to the General Staff, Russian artillery shelling affected border areas, including the settlements of Popivka, Luhivka, Pokrovka, Prokhody, and Marine in the Sumy region; Tymofiivka and Lemishchyne in the Kharkiv region; and Boyaro-Lezhachi in the Sumy region was hit by guided bombs.
In the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk sectors, the enemy twice attempted to conduct offensive operations, and fighting is currently ongoing. Russian aviation carried out two airstrikes, dropping a total of four guided bombs, and the enemy also carried out 115 shelling attacks, including two from multiple launch rocket systems. Ukrainian units are continuing their active operations, with some success in certain areas.
In the Southern Slobozhanshchyna sector, Ukrainian troops repelled an enemy assault near Hlyboke.
Since the beginning of the day, the occupiers have attacked three times in the Kupiansk sector in the areas of the settlements of Kupiansk, Holubivka, and Zahrzyzove.
In the Lyman sector, Ukrainian units repelled seven attacks in the areas of the settlements of Ridkodub, Hrekivka, Myrne, Shandryholove, and Kolodiazi. Three attacks are still ongoing.
In the Siversk sector, Ukrainian soldiers repelled one enemy attack, with occupying forces attempting to advance in the area of Hryhorivka.
In the Toretsk sector, Russian occupiers twice attempted to advance on the positions of Ukrainian defenders in the areas of Toretsk and Oleksandro-Kalynove. Ukrainian units repelled one attack, and another battle is ongoing.
In the Pokrovsk sector, since the beginning of the day, the occupiers have carried out 37 attacks on the positions of Ukrainian defenders in the areas of the settlements of Popiv Yar, Zolotyi Kolodiaz, Nykanorivka, Maiak, Volodymyrivka, Shakhove, Rubizhne, Vilne, Novoekonomichne, Myroliubivka, Mykolaivka, Rodynske, Chervonyi Lyman, Promin, Lysivka, Sukhyi Yar, Pokrovsk, Zvirove, Udachne, and Novoukrainka. Holding back the enemy’s advance, Ukrainian defenders have already repelled 34 attacks, and fighting continues.
“The situation in the sector is stabilizing. The Defense Forces are taking all necessary measures to identify and destroy groups of Russian occupiers who infiltrated the rear areas of Ukrainian defense yesterday. Thus, over the past day, servicemen of one of Ukrainian mechanized brigades captured five invaders,” the General Staff stated.
According to the posted update, in the Novopavlivka sector, the occupiers launched nine attacks on the positions of Ukrainian troops near the settlements of Tolstoi, Oleksandrohrad, Maliivka, and toward Filiia and Zaporizke. One battle is still ongoing.
In the Orikhiv sector, the invader’s aviation struck Novodanylivka with unguided air missiles.
In the Prydniprovske sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled five assault operations by the occupiers. Lvove was hit by an air strike.
In the Kramatorsk, Huliaipole, and Orikhiv sectors, no combat clashes have been reported at this time, according to the General Staff.
Ukrinform reported that Russian occupation forces are trying to gain a foothold in the village of Maiak in the Dobropillia sector.
