A virtual meeting of NATO and EU leaders and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has begun as part of the Coalition of the Willing meeting.
This was reported by the BBC, according to Ukrinform.
It is noted that it was opened by French President Emmanuel Macron, who welcomed all participants, especially those who joined from Australia and Japan.
The BBC reported that Macron said they had several objectives and outlined the agenda, which included developing a strategy ahead of Zelensky’s visit to Washington the following day.
The video conference also features British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, and German Federal Chancellor Friedrich Merz, with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen sitting to Zelensky’s left.
As reported by Ukrinform, Zelensky met with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen in Brussels on August 17 and is participating in a video conference of the Coalition of the Willing.
