Anti-aircraft systems destroy one Russian Iskander missile and 62 drones

Air Defense Forces destroyed one Iskander-M ballistic missile and 62 drones used by Russians to attack Ukraine in the evening of August 19.

According to Ukrinform, the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported this on Telegram.

According to the report, starting at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, August 19, the enemy attacked with two Iskander-M ballistic missiles (from the temporarily occupied Crimea), as well as 93 Shahed-type strike UAVs and various types of drone simulators from the following sectors: Shatalovo, Bryansk, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk (Russian Federation), and Chauda (occupied Crimea).

The air attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare, and unmanned systems units, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.

According to preliminary data, as of 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 20, Air Defense Forces shot down/neutralized one Iskander-M and 62 drones of various types in northern and eastern Ukraine.

Missile and strike drone hits were recorded at 20 locations.

As reported by Ukrinform, on the night of August 20, 12 people, including two children, were wounded in Okhtyrka, Sumy region, as a result of an attack by Russian drones.
