Russian drone attack on Okhtyrka injures 12, including two children

A Russian drone strike on the city of Okhtyrka in the Sumy region has left 12 people injured, including two children. Residential buildings and infrastructure were damaged in the attack.

This was reported on Telegram by the Sumy Regional Police, according to Ukrinform.

The statement notes that overnight, the enemy launched a large-scale drone attack on Okhtyrka. The strike once again targeted civilians.

“As a result of the attack, 12 people were injured, including two children. Damage was reported to an apartment building, 13 private homes, a utility structure, and a garage,” the message reads.

Police investigative teams and bomb disposal experts quickly arrived at the impact sites. Officers conducted a thorough inspection of the area, documented the aftermath, collected physical evidence, and provided assistance to victims.

Criminal proceedings have been initiated under Article 438 of the Criminal Code (war crimes).

As previously reported, on the night of August 20, Russian forces launched a large-scale drone strike on the Okhtyrka community. Enemy combat drones targeted residential areas, sparking fires at the impact sites. The number of injured had not been confirmed at the time.
