The counterintelligence of the Security Service of Ukraine detained two more Russian informants who were operating in the Donetsk and Dnipropetrovsk regions, where they were spying on the positions of Sloviansk defenders and Ukrainian Armed Forces echelons.
According to Ukrinform, this was reported by the SSU press center.
Following the case materials, the suspects collected coordinates to facilitate Russian missile, drone, and artillery attacks on the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
In the Dnipropetrovsk region, a 20-year-old resident of the Synelnykove district was detained for tracking the transit stops of Ukrainian Armed Forces convoys for the enemy.
According to the security service, it was documented how she installed a hidden video camera with a power bank and remote access near the railway track for Russian intelligence operatives.
In addition, an informant was foiled in the Donetsk region who coordinated guided aerial bombs and long-range artillery of the Russian invaders to the positions of the defenders of Sloviansk.
The main targets of the enemy were fortified areas and warehouses with fuel and ammunition of the Ukrainian troops.
According to the SSU, the suspect sent the collected data via messenger to his acquaintance, a militant of Russian groups who cooperates with Russian military intelligence.
SSU officers gradually documented the criminal activities of both informants and seized the smartphones they used to communicate with enemy intelligence from their homes.
In turn, SSU investigators informed them that they were suspected of violating Articles 1 and 2 of Section 114-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (dissemination of information about the movement, movement, or location of the Armed Forces of Ukraine or other military formations established under the laws of Ukraine).
The suspects face up to eight years in prison.
According to Ukrinform, the SSU foiled a spy ring of Russian military intelligence (better known as the GRU), which was involved in coordinating Russian air strikes on Kyiv and sabotage in southern Ukraine.
