The Armed Forces of Ukraine carried out a successful counterattack in Donetsk region and liberated the villages of Mykhailivka, Zelenyi Hai, and Volodymyrivka from Russian forces.
This was reported on Facebook by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, who is visiting the Pokrovsk sector, according to Ukrinform.
“I am working in the combat zones. The Pokrovsk sector is where it is most difficult. Defending Ukrainian Independence and the Ukrainian Flag is not just high-sounding words — it is a daily risk and a daily act of heroism,” Syrskyi said.
He spoke with servicemen who have been defending Pokrovsk for an extended period, repelling attacks by numerically superior enemy forces, including the 25th Airborne, 68th Jaeger, 32nd, and 155th Mechanized Brigades.
The Commander-in-Chief awarded the most distinguished soldiers for resilience, bravery, and exemplary fulfillment of military duty.
He also visited command posts of units carrying out operations on the Pokrovsk front, listened to reports from corps and brigade commanders on the operational situation.
“The situation is indeed difficult; the enemy has concentrated its main efforts on this sector of the front. But we must hold the line. Support for combat operations will be provided. Issues regarding additional ammunition, drones, and electronic warfare systems have been resolved,” Syrskyi emphasized.
According to him, Ukrainian forces successfully counterattacked and cleared the enemy from the villages of Mykhailivka, Zelenyi Hai, and Volodymyrivka in Donetsk region.
“Once again, I express my deep gratitude to my fellow warriors for their actions during these critical, decisive days,” Syrskyi added.
As previously reported, Ukrainian forces encircled Russian troops near Dobropillia where the major threat was suppressed.
