“Today, together with Prime Minister of Canada Mark Carney, we saw the latest Ukrainian developments – weapons and equipment created here in Ukraine to defend our state. I thank everyone engaged in this effort. We are building up our own production, and this is essential,” he wrote.
The president also met with defense ministers from partner countries who visited Ukraine on Independence Day.
“This is a great sign of solidarity with our warriors and with all Ukrainian people. We discussed the significance of developing Ukraine’s defense industry, cooperation in various formats, and security guarantees for Ukraine, which are crucial both for the future of our state and for the security of the entire Europe. I am grateful for the support and the readiness to continue working together for the security of our country,” Zelensky said.
According to the presidential press service, Zelensky took part in a forum dedicated to defense cooperation with partners and production for modern warfare needs. He met with defense ministers from partner countries attending Ukraine’s Independence Day events.

“We understand that these security guarantees for Ukraine’s future and for the security of Europe are based, first and foremost, on a strong Ukrainian army,” Zelensky said.
The participants of the meeting highlighted the importance of continuing to develop Ukraine’s defense industry. They noted the effectiveness of the Danish model of financing the Ukrainian defense industry and discussed other potential avenues of support.
