Ukrainian troops may replace US contingents in Europe after war – President

Ukraine is considering the possibility of replacing certain military contingents of the U.S. Armed Forces stationed in Europe with Ukrainian units.

President Volodymyr Zelensky announced this in his speech in the Verkhovna Rada, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“If the partners agree, we envisage the replacement of certain military contingents of the U.S. Armed Forces stationed in Europe with Ukrainian units. After the war. Ukrainians have proven that they can be the force that Russian evil cannot overcome,” Zelensky said.

According to him, this is envisaged in the fifth point of the Victory Plan, which is designed for the postwar period.

“After this war, Ukraine will have one of the most experienced and largest military contingents. These people are our soldiers, who will have real experience of modern warfare, successful experience of using Western weapons and diverse experience of interaction with NATO troops. This Ukrainian experience should be used to strengthen the Alliance’s defense and ensure security in Europe. This is a worthy mission for our heroes,” the President said.

As reported, President Volodymyr Zelensky presented the Victory Plan in the Verkhovna Rada today.
