Metropolitan Epifaniy of Kyiv and All Ukraine has blessed the Ukrainian people to fight the invaders.
The Primate of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine has made the relevant statement during an all-national telethon, Ukrinform reports.
“We, as a nation, don’t wish death upon our neighbors. However, since they came to our land, we are defending our land. To defend is not a sin … The OCU blesses everyone for this military feat,” said Metropolitan Epifaniy.
As reported, the Russian invasion of Ukraine has been going on since February 24. The aggressor has been shelling and destroying key infrastructure, residential areas of Ukrainian cities and villages using artillery, multiple rocket launchers, and ballistic missiles.
Martial law was imposed in Ukraine and general mobilization was announced.
