The VII German-Ukrainian Business Forum with the participation of the heads of government of both countries has started in Berlin.
This was reported by an Ukrinform correspondent.
Christian Bruch, Deputy Chairman of the German Eastern Business Association, outlined the key topics to be addressed at the conference. According to him, the focus will be on the defense industry and energy sector. New attacks have demonstrated the vulnerability of energy infrastructure, which requires assistance, he emphasized.
Germany is making a great contribution to rebuilding Ukraine, Bruch said, recalling the international recovery conference held in Berlin in the summer. Six months after the conference, six working groups were established, he said.
Bruch also said that this year’s bilateral trade could reach 12 billion euros.
At the beginning of the meeting, the participants paid tribute to the memory of Ukrainians who died in the Russian war and recalled that this criminal full-scale war has been ongoing for 1,022 days.
As Ukrinform reported, 7th German-Ukrainian Business Forum will be held under the slogan “Stronger together. Securing the future”. The event will be attended by the heads of government of both countries, Denys Shmyhal and Olaf Scholz, ministers, representatives of business structures, etc.
Ukraine and Germany have been holding joint business forums since 2015.
