On January 12, 140 combat engagements between the Defense Forces of Ukraine and Russian invaders were recorded along the frontlines.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said this in a situation update as of 08:00 on Monday, January 13, Ukrinform reports.
Yesterday, the Russian troops conducted 42 air strikes on the positions of Ukrainian units and populated areas, dropping 58 aerial glide bombs and launching one missile strike.
In addition, the enemy carried out over 6,000 attacks, including 126 MLRS attacks and strikes deploying 2,992 kamikaze drones.
The Russian army carried out air strikes, in particular in the areas of Ochkyne, Novovasylivka, Vovkivka, Veterynarne, Myrnohrad, Pokrovsk, Novopil, Maliivka, Oleksiivka, Kostiantynopil, Komar, and Velyka Novosilka.
Over the past day, the aviation, missile troops and artillery of the Defense Forces hit one command post, five air defense systems, two ammunition depots, six artillery facilities and three other important targets of the Russian invaders.
In the Kharkiv sector, the enemy stormed the positions of Ukrainian troops four times in the areas of Vovchansk and Kozacha Lopan.
In the Kupiansk sector, eight enemy attacks occurred over the last day. The Ukrainian forces repelled assaults near Petropavlivka and Pishchane.
In the Lyman sector, Russian troops attacked 12 times, trying to advance toward Kopanky, Shyikivka, Pershotravneve, Makiivka, Tverdokhlibove, Terny and Zarichne.
In the Kramatorsk sector, 15 combat engagements were recorded in the areas of Chasiv Yar and Stupochky.
In the Toretsk sector, the enemy carried out 13 attacks in the vicinity of Toretsk, Bila Hora and Shcherbynivka.
In the Pokrovsk sector, Ukrainian troops stopped 58 Russian assault and offensive operations in the areas of Yelyzavetivka, Lysivka, Zelene, Promin, Novyi Trud, Pokrovsk, Udachne, Kotlyne, Novovasylivka, Sribne, Petropavlivka, Novoandriivka, Dachne, Shevchenkove and Yantarne.
In the Novopavlivka sector, the enemy launched nine attacks near Kostiantynopil, Neskuchne, Vremivka and Rivne, with the Russian Air Force operating in the area
In the Siversk, Orikhiv and Huliaipole sectors, the enemy did not conduct any active operations in the past day.
In the Prydniprovskyi sector, Russian troops made one unsuccessful.
In the operational zone in Russia’s Kursk region, units of the Defense Forces of Ukraine repelled 17 Russian attacks over the past day. The Russian invaders carried out 443 artillery attacks and launched 14 air strikes, using 16 aerial glide bombs.
No signs of enemy offensive groups were recorded in the Volyn and Polissia sectors.
As reported by Ukrinform, the Russian army’s total combat losses in Ukraine from February 24, 2022, to January 13, 2024, amounted to about 809,760 troops, including another 1,510 invaders killed or wounded in the past day.
