Ukraine’s Defense Forces intercepted 93 Shahed-type one-way attack UAVs and other types of drones, while another 47 decoy UAVs disappeared from radar.
That’s according to the Ukrainian Air Force, Ukrinform reports.
From 19:00 on Sunday, January 19, the Russians attacked Ukraine with 141 Shahed UAVs and decoy drones of various types from five directions: Millerovo, Orel, Bryansk, Kursk, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk, and also launched from an Iskander-M ballistic missile from the Kursk area at Sumy region.
The air raid was repelled by aviation, air defense units, electronic warfare teams, and mobile fire groups.
As of 08:00 on Monday, January 20, 93 Shaheds and other drones have been confirmed as intercepted over Poltava, Sumy, Kharkiv, Cherkasy, Chernihiv, Kyiv, Khmelnytskyi, Vinnytsia, Kirovohrad, Dnipropetrovsk, Mykolaiv, Kherson, and Donetsk regions.
Another 47 decoy drones, launched to exhaust Ukraine’s air defense capabilities, disappeared from radar, causing no damage on the ground, and two flew back to Russia.
As Ukrinform reported, on January 20, air defense forces shot down 22 Russian UAVs in the sky over Sumy region.
