Throughout Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, at least 1,666 Russian army soldiers from units stationed in occupied Crimea have been killed in action. Most of them were likely citizens of Ukraine.

This was reported by the Presidential Representation for the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, Ukrinform saw.

“At least 1,666 Russian army soldiers from units based in occupied Crimea have died. Of them, 1,123 were likely citizens of Ukraine,” the report says.

It is noted that the death toll may be higher as Russia traditionally conceals its manpower losses.
