Russian sabotage and reconnaissance groups pursue the attempts to cross into Ukraine in Chernihiv, Sumy, and Kharkiv regions, which border the Russian Federation.
That’s according to the spokesman for the State Border Guard Service, Andriy Demchenko, who spoke on national television, Ukrinform reports.
“We continue to record the most such cases (RSG spottings – ed.) along the border with the Russian Federation in Chernihiv, Sumy, and Kharkiv regions. But we also note a certain decrease in enemy sabotage and reconnaissance efforts against 2023 and early 2024. At the same time, the enemy has not given up sabotage work. We continue to record most incidents of this kind in Kharkiv and Sumy regions,” he said.
Demchenko added that enemy SRGs aim to expose the locations of Ukrainian forces, plant mines, and engage certain targets.
At the same time, the Ukrainian border guards and national guardsmen actively employ drones to expose enemy attempts to penetrate the border.
As reported earlier, Demchenko said Ukraine’s border guards in 2024 constantly worked to repel Russian sabotage and reconnaissance groups’ attempts to cross into Ukraine.
