Four civilians killed as Russians strike nursing facility in Sudzha

A Russian airstrike on a nursing facility in Sudzha, Kursk region, has resulted in four deaths, with four others in critical condition. A total of 84 people were rescued from under the rubble.

This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) on Facebook, as cited by Ukrinform.

“At 22:00, emergency crews continue clearing the rubble and providing aid to survivors. Military personnel from the Russian garrison commandant’s office are also at the scene,” the post reads.

During the rescue operation 84 civilians were found alive and given medical assistance, four individuals remain in critical condition, four people have been confirmed dead.

The AFU General Staff stated that all survivors requiring additional medical attention will be evacuated to healthcare facilities in Ukraine.

President Volodymyr Zelensky condemned the attack, stating that the Russian forces are using the same brutal tactics against their own civilians as they do against Ukrainians.

As reported by Ukrinform, at 16:54 on February 1, Russian aviation carried out a guided bomb strike on the care home building in Sudzha, Kursk region. At the time of the attack, dozens of local residents were inside, preparing for evacuation.
