Kherson region authorities demonstrate consequences of Russian strikes

In Kherson region, as a result of Russian attacks over the past day, one person was killed while 14 others were injured.

This was reported by the Communication Department of the National Police of Ukraine, according to Ukrinform.

“The Kherson police are recording the consequences of yet another series of Russian attacks: one person was killed and 14 others were injured, including two children and a police officer,” the statement reads.

According to the National Police of Ukraine, over the past day, the invading forces massively shelled Kherson and Beryslav districts with artillery, mortars, and UAVs, and carried out an airstrike on the regional center.

“Kherson, Sadove, Antonivka, Stanislav, Prydniprovske, Tomina Balka, Zelenivka, Mykilske, Oleksandrivka, Chaikyne, Beryslav, Havrylivka, Zolota Balka, Novovorontsivka, and Arkhanhelske suffered from enemy shelling,” the police noted.

According to the agency, the Russian strikes caused damage to more than 40 objects: four apartment buildings and 21 private houses; facilities of critical infrastructure; cafes; gas pipelines; three civilian cars; a police service vehicle; an ambulance; three utility structures; two garages; and a storage facility.

In Beryslav, a 54-year-old local resident sustained an explosive injury and traumatic amputation of his lower leg due to an attack by a Russian drone.

In addition, the Russian forces dropped explosives from UAVs on Antonivka. Two local residents were injured: a 59-year-old man sustained a mine-explosive injury, and a 40-year-old man was diagnosed with an explosive injury and shrapnel wounds to his legs.

In Stanislav, as a result of a drone attack, a 35-year-old woman suffered an explosive injury and shrapnel wounds to her chest.

“In Tekstylne, throughout the day, the Russian troops deliberately attacked a route bus with a drone. As a result of the explosive drop, the vehicle caught fire; five passengers were injured, including two children aged 12 and 13. The victims suffered explosive injuries, closed craniocerebral traumas, concussions, and burns,” the statement said.

It is noted that the route bus was completely burned, and a civilian car was also damaged.

The director of the regional children’s hospital, Inna Kholodniak, stated in a video that the children are in satisfactory condition in the hospital.

“Two children who were injured as a result of the explosive drop on a route taxi were brought to the hospital in the afternoon. Their condition was assessed as moderate—with an acute stress reaction, head trauma, and minor skin injuries. Today, the children’s condition is considered satisfactory,” Kholodniak reported.

In addition, the occupiers struck a police service vehicle with an FPV drone, resulting in injuries to a 34-year-old Kherson police officer. He was taken to the hospital with an explosive injury and a gunshot wound to the head and face. The vehicle was significantly damaged.

“Russians struck a private house in Havrylivka with an FPV drone, causing damage. Due to a munition drop from a UAV, a private house in Tomyna Balka was damaged. Artillery fire damaged a private house in Zelenivka,” the statement said.

According to the National Police of Ukraine, since early this morning the Russian troops have been attacking Dniprovskyi district of Kherson with artillery and UAVs. As a result of artillery shelling of residential areas, a 72-year-old woman was killed and a 50-year-old man was injured. An apartment building and nine private houses, as well as a utility structure, were damaged.

“Later, the Russian occupiers struck a multi-story building with an FPV drone. The strike caused damage to apartments. A 74-year-old man suffered a concussion. Also, Russians dropped an explosive the drone on an ambulance that was responding to an emergency call. As a result of the strike, the vehicle was damaged; fortunately, the medical personnel were unharmed,” the press service reported.

At noon, Russian aviation dropped a guided bomb on the old center of Kherson. As a result of the powerful strike, significant damage was inflicted on two apartment buildings, seven private houses, a cafe, two garages, and a car.

“Two local women were injured. A 40-year-old woman sustained an explosive injury, multiple gunshot wounds to the head and torso, a gunshot fracture of the scapula, and a lung contusion. A 46-year-old woman was rescued from under the rubble of a building by rescuers and handed over to paramedics. Doctors assess her condition as severe. She suffered explosive and craniocerebral injuries, a concussion, and shrapnel wounds to her abdominal cavity,” law enforcement officials stated.

All services joined efforts to eliminate the consequences of the enemy attacks. The police collected indisputable evidence of Russian involvement in the shelling.

Over the past day, the police responded to 227 reports and notifications from citizens regarding criminal offenses and other incidents. Eleven cases were launched under Article 438 (War Crimes) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

As previously reported, the Kherson Regional State Administration informed that in Kherson region, one person was killed and 13 injured as a result of Russian strikes over the past day.
