In just six months, Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Forces have carried out more than 220 operations deep inside Russian territory, deploying over 3,500 drones.
Colonel Vadym Sukharevskyi, commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces, said this in an interview with Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty, Ukrinform reports.
“Summarizing 2024, our units conducted more than 220 deep strikes against enemy targets inside Russia, launching over 3,500 drones so far,” Sukharevskyi said.
He highlighted the “exceptional efficiency” of Ukrainian bomber drones and the units operating them.
“For example, in just the past two months, our Nemesis units have destroyed more than 15 high-value enemy air defense systems, including Buk-M3 and Tor. Just two weeks ago, we struck a Buk-M3 system 57 kilometers deep into Russian territory using a drone. And yesterday, our unit successfully hit an enemy tank at a depth of more than 34 kilometers using an FPV drone,” he said.
Sukharevskyi also noted ongoing efforts to systematize various software solutions and develop tactics for using ground-based robotic systems.
“We have already begun integrating and refining operations at sea, both in defensive and offensive concepts. I believe we will soon move to the practical phase of these activities,” he added.
Earlier reports said that in January alone, Ukraine’s Achilles regiment destroyed 406 enemy targets and hit 1,536 more using drones in the Kharkiv and Kupiansk sectors.
