Defense Minister Rustem Umerov discussed with a delegation from the Intergovernmental Agency for Defense Cooperation (AMOS) of the Czech Ministry of Defense, accompanied by leading Czech defense companies, new joint projects, including in the production of rifles.
Umerov announced this on Facebook, Ukrinform reports.
“We are strengthening defense cooperation with the Czech Republic. I met with the delegation of the Intergovernmental Defense Cooperation Agency (AMOS) of the Ministry of Defense of the Czech Republic accompanied by leading Czech defense companies to discuss concrete steps to accelerate support deliveries from the Czech Republic and expand our collaboration,” the minister noted.
According to the defense chief, “we have a productive history of cooperation with AMOS, so we focused on key areas.”
These include production and supply of large-caliber ammunition; exchange of military technologies, and development of industrial cooperation between Ukraine and the Czech Republic.
He also reported that, “we are launching new joint projects to strengthen our forces on the front lines. One of them involves rifle production under the Danish financing model”.
“Some of these weapons are already being manufactured in the Czech Republic, and for others, we are negotiating localization of production in Ukraine,” Umerov added.
The minister emphasized that “the Czech government and defense companies continue to make a significant contribution to our security”.
As Ukrinform reported earlier, Umerov discussed the training of the Ukrainian military and defense assistance during a meeting with the Deputy Commander of NSATU, Major General Hartmut Renk.
