Head of the Center for Countering Disinformation (CCD) under Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) Andrii Kovalenko reminded citizens that sharing videos from Russian attack sites is a criminal offense.
As reported by Ukrinform, Kovalenko made this statement during a live television broadcast.
“There is direct criminal liability for spreading such videos, especially those showing the positions of the Defense Forces. A person can receive a real prison sentence and spend many years behind bars. For those who have become careless, I want to remind you of this responsibility,” he emphasized.
Kovalenko warned that Ukraine’s Security Service (SSU) will act swiftly in case of widespread violations, as it has done before.
“Those who forget about the law will unfortunately face real charges in court. It’s best not to film attack sites at all. Even if someone is chasing views, they will find it difficult to do so from prison,” he added.
According to Article 114-2 of Ukraine’s Criminal Code, unauthorized dissemination of information during martial law or a state of emergency carries serious criminal penalties.
