AFU conduct counteroffensive in Kursk region – Zelensky

The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) conducted a counteroffensive in Russia’s Kursk region and advanced 2.5 kilometers.

President Volodymyr Zelensky stated this in an interview with Reuters, as reported by Ukrinform.

“Our guys in Kursk region have advanced 2.5 kilometers,” Zelensky noted.

He added that the Russian forces are suffering significant losses in this sector of the front.

“This morning, the Russians lost 200-300 personnel in Kursk direction,” Zelensky emphasized.

Among the achievements of Kursk raid, Zelensky highlighted the disruption of the Kremlin’s plans to capture Kharkiv and Sumy, the diversion of a large number of enemy troops from eastern and southern Ukraine, particularly from the Zaporizhzhia direction, and the significant replenishment of the prisoner exchange pool.

“The exchange pool. It grew by more than 700 people whom we captured in Kursk region,” the Head of State stressed.

As reported, February 6 marked six months since the start of Kursk operation. President Zelensky predicts that it will become an important part of the negotiation process.
