CinC Syrskyi, NATO mission commander discuss frontline situation, Ukraine’s defense needs

The Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, General Oleksandr Syrskyi, has discussed the current weaponry needs of the Ukrainian Defense Forces with Lieutenant General Curtis Buzzard, the commander of the NATO Special Mission for Security Assistance and Training for Ukraine (NSATU).

Syrskyi announced this on Facebook, Ukrinform reports.

During the phone call, Syrskyi expressed gratitude to the U.S. government and people for their significant political support for Ukraine in its fight for independence and for the military assistance provided to Ukrainian forces. He particularly thanked them for the weapons, military equipment, and ammunition delivered since the beginning of this year.

Syrskyi informed Buzzard about the situation on the battlefield and the current needs of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in terms of weaponry, including missiles and other air defense systems, military equipment, its repair, and personnel training.

Buzzard assured Syrskyi that strong practical support for Ukraine from its allies would continue.
