Shmyhal, Tusk discuss defense cooperation, logistics acceleration

Ukrainian and Polish Prime Ministers, Denys Shmyhal and Donald Tusk, had a conversation during which they discussed cooperation between the two countries in the defense sector and the acceleration of logistics.

Shmyhal reported this on Telegram, as informed by Ukrinform.

“A substantive conversation with Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk. We discussed cooperation between our countries in important areas, particularly in the defense sector and the acceleration of logistics. I thanked Poland for the 46th military aid package,” Shmyhal said.

The politicians also focused on border infrastructure issues.

“Modernization of border crossing points at the shared border was carried out, including with the support of USAID. We agreed with Donald Tusk to facilitate further development of border infrastructure, particularly with the involvement of the European Investment Bank,” the head of the Ukrainian government emphasized.

Shmyhal noted that during Poland’s presidency of the Council of the European Union, Ukraine expects to make significant progress in deepening its relationship with the EU.

He also expressed gratitude to Poland for its unwavering support of Ukraine during the full-scale war with Russia.

As reported by Ukrinform, JSC Ukroborinprom and the Polish Armaments Group (PGZ) signed a memorandum of cooperation in the production of ammunition and the maintenance of military equipment.
