The United Kingdom has announced the allocation of a new defense aid package to Ukraine, which will include tanks, artillery, missiles and other types of weapons, as well as contracts for the maintenance of previously supplied equipment.

UK Defense Secretary John Healey stated this at the beginning of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group meeting in Brussels, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“Today, I have announced an extra £150 million in new firepower – tanks, artillery, air-to-air missiles,” said Healey, adding that it will also include new contracts for repairs of crucial equipment in Ukraine.

He stressed that Ukraine’s security matters to global security, and this war was never just about the fate of the Ukrainian nation alone. He said that China, Iran and North Korea are watching for any signs of weakness, expecting the international coalition’s resolve to fade and unity to break down.

“When aggression goes unchecked on one continent, it emboldens regimes on other continents. When the border of one country is redrawn by force, it undermines the security of all nations,” said Healey.

He called on everyone to recognize this danger and to stand united.

As Ukrinform reported, British Defence Secretary John Healey chairs the Ramstein meeting in Brussels for the first time.
