Over 300,000 civilians remain in Donetsk region: RMA on evacuation progress

About 301,000 civilians remain in Donetsk Oblast, and mandatory evacuation in the region continues.

This was announced at an online briefing by Dmytro Petlin, head of the department of operational and emergency service, communication, warning and public information of the Department for Civil Protection, Mobilization and Defense of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration (RMA), an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“Evacuation from Donetsk region continues. As of today, more than 1,198,000 civilians have been evacuated, including more than 189,000 children and about 46,000 people with disabilities. As of now, about 301,000 civilians remain in the territory controlled by the Ukrainian authorities,” Petlin said.

The RMA reminded that the mandatory evacuation of civilians in the government-controlled area of Donetsk region has been underway since August 2, 2022.

As reported, as of February 5, 2025, about 302,000 civilians remained in the Donetsk region controlled by Ukraine.
