Head of the Presidential Office Andriy Yermak met with U.S. Special Envoy for Ukraine and Russia Keith Kellogg in Kyiv. During the meeting, Yermak stressed that the principle of “nothing about Ukraine without Ukraine” remains key in all international negotiations.
Yermak said this in a post on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.
“Today, I had the pleasure of welcoming the U.S. President’s Special Envoy for Ukraine and Russia, Keith Kellogg, to Kyiv. This was his first meeting as part of his visit, and I am grateful to him for coming to Ukraine during this difficult time – – we appreciate it,” Yermak added.
He noted that it is important for Ukraine that Kellogg receives full information about the frontline developments, about the resilience and spirit of the Ukrainian nation, which have remained unchanged all these years. Briefings from the military command and commanders on the ground on the battlefield situation will also be important.
Yermak emphasized that the Ukrainian government is counting on continued U.S. support for Ukraine and expects relations between the two countries to remain open, based on the principles of mutual respect and shared success.
“It is important how this war will end. I personally told Keith Kellogg about this. Russia always manipulates information, attempts to sow discord and lies to divide us. The principle of ‘nothing about Ukraine without Ukraine’ is key. We are interested in the United States being on the side of truth and justice, and it is on our side. We are interested in a strategic, long-term and comprehensive partnership with the United States. Ukraine needs security guarantees, defense and economic partnership,” Yermak emphasized.
He thanked Kellogg for the constructive meeting.
“We will continue to work for a just peace,” Yermak summarized.
