The relevant statement was made by the NBU’s press service, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
As in previous years, the NBU’s System of Electronic Payments (SEP) was recognized as the only systematically important payment system.
Meanwhile, the critical payment systems included five entities, such as MasterCard, MasterCard International Incorporated, the United States; Visa, Visa International Service Association, the United States; NovaPay, NovaPay LLC, Ukraine; PrivatMoney, PrivatBank CB JSC, Ukraine; Financial World, Ukrainian Payment System LLC, Ukraine.
Additionally, based on the results of 2024, three significant payment service providers were determined, namely AC DC Processing LLC, Ukrainian Processing Center PrJSC and TAS LINK LLC.
As noted by the NBU, the regulator classifies payment infrastructure entities by importance in accordance with the international practice to improve their stability and performance, as well as to bring their operations in line with international oversight standards.
The NBU sets tighter requirements for critical payment infrastructure entities, namely with regard to governance and management of operations, risk management system, etc.
A reminder that, on January 17, 2025, the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) updated the procedure for specifying requirements and applying enforcement actions to payment infrastructure oversight entities.
