Poland prepares new aid package for Ukraine worth EUR 200 M

Poland is preparing the 46th aid package for Ukraine, which will amount to more than 200 million euros.

This was stated on Tuesday by Deputy Prime Minister, Head of the Ministry of National Defense of Poland Vladislav Kosiniak-Kamysh, Ukrinform reports citing PAP.

“We are currently preparing the 46th assistance to Ukraine, which will cost more than 200 million euros. This is sometimes more than some European countries donated during the entire war. This is the 46th contribution, and we will continue to help, I would like to emphasize this,” he said on Tuesday at the opening of a conference in the Senate on the occasion of the third anniversary of Russia’s full-scale aggression against Ukraine.

The Vice Prime Minister also emphasized that Poland would continue to train Ukrainian soldiers. “Out of 80-90,000 soldiers trained by the EU countries, Poland has trained about a third – 28,000. We are ready to continue training on our territory. We are a leader in this area,” he added.

Kosiniak-Kamysh emphasized that Poland, as a country, “has been a leader in helping” when it comes to military support.

“I remember those meetings of the National Security Council when I was in the opposition, but there was a commonality of action between the opposition and the government. No one had any doubts that we had to transfer equipment [to Ukraine]. When some people were thinking about what to give, they looked at their warehouses, tanks, heavy equipment, and ammunition were coming from Poland. We delivered everything that was possible,” he said.

Kosiniak-Kamysh noted that “in terms of our GDP, in terms of our capabilities, today humanitarian aid and military assistance is at the top among all the countries of the world that have supported Ukraine.”
