
Ukraine’s Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration and Minister of Justice Olha Stefanishyna discussed the Comprehensive Assistance Package for Ukraine with NATO Assistant Secretary General for Political Affairs and Security Policy Boris Ruge.
That’s according to the Government portal, Ukrinform reports.
It is noted that the parties discussed key areas of cooperation between Ukraine and NATO, urgent security challenges, as well as achieving a just and lasting peace.
Stefanishyna thanked NATO for its support of Ukraine and emphasized the importance of further consolidating efforts to strengthen the country’s defense and resilience.
“Ukraine is committed to its European and Euro-Atlantic path. The implementation of decisions approved at the NATO Washington Summit has already become an important milestone that significantly influences the strategic development of relations between Ukraine and the Alliance. We look forward to further strengthening this cooperation, especially in the defense and security sector,” she said.
The parties also discussed the Comprehensive Assistance Package for Ukraine, which includes urgent medium- and long-term projects and provides non-lethal assistance to Ukraine.
“We consider the Comprehensive Assistance Package as an important tool for developing Ukraine’s defense capabilities, achieving interoperability with NATO forces and advancing reforms in the security and defense sector,” Stefanishyna emphasized.
The participants welcomed the launch of the NATO-Ukraine Joint Analysis, Training, and Education Centre (JATEC) and noted the launch of the NATO Security Assistance and Training for Ukraine (NSATU).
The representative of the NATO Secretary General’s team assured of support for Ukraine and commitment to strengthening cooperation.
As Ukrinform reported, on February 25, Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Ihor Zhovkva met with NATO Assistant Secretary General for Political Affairs and Security Policy Boris Ruge to discuss the importance of cooperation on Ukraine’s path to membership in the Alliance.
