In Turkey, Baykar is already training future employees of a drone manufacturing plant being built in Ukraine. Machinery and equipment have already been ordered for the Ukrainian company.
Baykar CEO Haluk Bayraktar said this in a comment to Ukrinform.
“We are currently at the training stage. We have 20 students of the Kyiv Aviation Institute and 14 employees. We are training them at Baykar for at least nine months, and during the training, a new group of people will arrive. So we are preparing – training people for the enterprise, for the launch of production,” said Bayraktar.
According to him, machinery and equipment have already been ordered for the enterprise in Ukraine. “We have ordered machinery and the necessary equipment. That’s why we are moving forward. We want and hope for a just peace. We would like to start immediately after that. We are ready for this. We are preparing and are very close to it,” added Baykar CEO.
As Ukrinform reported, the Turkish company Baykar, which produces Bayraktar TB2 combat drones, is investing USD 100 million in three projects in Ukraine, including the construction of a drone manufacturing plant.
In February 2024, Haluk Bayraktar reported that the construction of the Baykar plant in Ukraine would be completed within 12 months, and then the stage of internal technical equipment would begin. The Baykar plant in Ukraine will be able to produce 120 drones annually.
