Poland’s 46th military aid package for Ukraine will primarily include ammunition and spare parts, while Kyiv remains interested in expanding military cooperation with Warsaw in various areas.

Ukrainian Ambassador to Poland Vasyl Bodnar said this in comments to Ukrinform.

“In the current situation, support from our allies is crucial. Poland’s 46th military aid package, worth over EUR 200 million, consists mainly of essential ammunition, spare parts, and other necessary equipment for Ukraine,” the diplomat said.

He recalled that in early February, a Polish delegation led by Deputy Minister of National Defense Cezary Tomczyk visited Kyiv, where several bilateral agreements on defense industry cooperation were signed.

“We are particularly interested in Polish armored vehicles and artillery, including the Krab self-propelled howitzers, Rosomak armored personnel carriers, and Soviet-era armored vehicles still widely used on the frontlines in Ukraine. These include T-72 and PT-91 tanks, which Poland is gradually decommissioning and replacing with South Korean K2 tanks and American Abrams,” Bodnar said.

Additionally, Ukraine seeks cooperation with Poland in air defense, particularly in acquiring Piorun MANPADS. Kyiv is also interested in maintenance and servicing of Western-made military equipment.

Another key area of cooperation, according to the ambassador, is the joint production of drones.

“This cooperation is beneficial for both sides. Ukraine is interested in scaling up production, while Poland can gain valuable experience in the use and manufacturing of drones,” Bodnar said, highlighting the potential for collaboration in this sector.

He also emphasized the importance of cooperation in artificial intelligence, advanced military technologies, and battle management software.

“This is of interest to Poland, as demonstrated by the recent opening of the JATEC center in Bydgoszcz, where Ukrainian officers are also working to exchange information and receive training. Warsaw is also keen on Ukraine’s expertise in radio-electronic technology, particularly in drone production,” the ambassador added.

Earlier reports said that Poland was preparing its 46th aid package for Ukraine, totaling over EUR 200 million.
