During a meeting with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer in London, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni reiterated her commitment to achieving a just and lasting peace in Ukraine.
That is reported by The Guardian, citing PA, according to Ukrinform.
“We are all very committed about a goal that we all want to achieve, which is a just and lasting peace in Ukraine,” the Italian Prime Minister said.
Speaking at Downing Street, Meloni underlined that at this “precious moment,” it is “very important to talk to each other, to co-ordinate”.
“I think it is very, very important that we avoid the risk that the West divides. I think on this the UK and Italy can play an important role in bridge-building,” Meloni added.
As reported by Ukrinform, the March 2 summit in London will focus on strengthening Ukraine’s position, including ongoing military support, increased economic pressure on Russia, securing a just peace, and developing strong security guarantees for Ukraine.
