A police officer from Kharkiv region, Denys Kotlyar, was killed in Donetsk region while performing a combat mission.
This was reported in Telegram by the Communication Department of the National Police of Ukraine, Ukrinform reports.
“On March 3, Denys Kotlyar, an inspector of platoon No. 2 of company No. 3 of battalion No. 3 of the Special Police Regiment of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Kharkiv region, was performing a combat mission to transport personnel to Donetsk region. At that time, the Russians fired from an FPV drone. As a result of the enemy attack, the police senior lieutenant sustained life-threatening injuries,” the statement said.

According to the NPU, Kotlyar spent about 12 years of his life working in the police and internal affairs agencies.
“He worked as a driver, patrol officer and district inspector. During the full-scale invasion of Ukraine by the Russian Federation, he did not betray his oath, stood up to defend the state and continued to fulfill his professional duties. Denys will be 30 years old forever. His wife is left without a husband, his 9-year-old daughter without a father, and his parents without a son,” the press service said.
The National Police expressed sincere condolences to the family of the deceased.
