Ukraine has not received any proposals from partners for the deployment of a peacekeeping force in the country.
This was stated by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal during a press conference on Tuesday in response to a question from an Ukrinform correspondent.
“We have not received any official proposal for a peacekeeping contingent. If we officially receive it from our partners, we will be absolutely ready to discuss its specifics, to create the appropriate infrastructure. But there have been no such proposals,” he said.
As Ukrinform reported, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that the issue of setting up a peacekeeping contingent is under consideration, and much depends, in particular, on the role the United States will play in this.
The presidents of France and the United States have agreed that a European peacekeeping contingent in Ukraine should be part of the peace treaty.
