Russian attacks have severely damaged the production facilities of Naftogaz Group, but specialists are doing everything possible to ensure the gas supply to consumers.

Roman Chumak, Acting Chairman of the Board at Naftogaz, stated this in comments to Ukrinform.

He noted that since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Russian forces have carried out 17 combined attacks on Naftogaz Group’s gas infrastructure facilities.

“The strikes have caused serious damage to production facilities essential for gas extraction. The situation is difficult but controlled. Repair work is ongoing. The entire Naftogaz Group team, along with employees of Ukrgazvydobuvannya, are doing everything possible to provide the country and consumers with the necessary volumes of gas,” Chumak said.

He said that Naftogaz was also importing natural gas to ensure the stable completion of the current heating season and to build a strategic fuel reserve for the next winter.

On March 7, Russia launched another massive attack on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, damaging the production facilities of Naftogaz and DTEK Group.
