Since the beginning of the day, there have been 90 combat clashes between Ukrainian Defense Forces and Russian troops, with fighting in the Pokrovsk and Lyman directions being the most intense.
This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in an update as of 16:00 on March 14, according to Ukrinform.
Ukrainian defenders are holding back the Russian advance and taking the necessary measures to prevent Russian forces from penetrating deeper into Ukrainian territory.
Russian artillery and mortars targeted Huta-Studenetska in Chernihiv region, as well as Marchykhyna Buda, Turya, Luhivka, Kucherivka, Ulanove, Porozok, Pokrovka, and Baranivka in Sumy region.
In the Kharkiv sector, one clash occurred near Krasne Pershe. The towns of Hraniv and Kozacha Lopan were hit by Russian unguided rockets.
In the Kupiansk sector, Russian forces attacked Ukrainian positions four times near Zahryzove and Petropavlivka. Two battles are still ongoing.
In the Lyman sector, the enemy launched 17 attacks near Kopanky, Novoiehorivka, Nove, Novovodiane, Yampolivka, and Torske. Five battles are still in progress.
In the Siversk sector, Russian forces attempted to find weak points in Ukrainian defenses near Bilohorivka and Hryhorivka. Ukrainian forces successfully repelled two attacks.
In the Toretsk sector, eight combat clashes have ended, while four Russian assaults near Dachne, Druzhba, and Toretsk are still ongoing.
In the Pokrovsk sector, fighting is the most intense, with 25 Russian attempts to push Ukrainian forces from their positions near Sukha Balka, Vodiane Druhe, Svyrydonivka, Promin, Pokrovsk, Kotlyne, Kotliarivka, Andriivka, and Shevchenko. Ukrainian defenders have repelled 19 attacks, with the rest still ongoing.
Russian aviation struck Hrodivka, Novopavlivka, Pokrovsk, Myrnohrad, and Zvirove.
In the Novopavlivka sector, Russian troops made five attempts to breach Ukrainian defenses near Kostiantynopil, with one battle still continuing.
In the Huliaipole sector, Russian forces dropped five guided bombs on Huliaipole, Novopil, and Zaliznychne.
In the Orikhiv sector, Ukrainian defenders are repelling seven Russian assaults towards Stepove, Piatykhatky, and Shcherbaky.
In the Prydniprovske sector, Russian aviation launched guided bombs on Kherson.
In the Kramatorsk sector, no combat clashes have been recorded.
In the Kursk sector, 13 battles took place, with three still ongoing. Russian forces dropped 25 guided bombs and conducted 98 artillery strikes.
No significant changes have been observed in other sectors of the front.
Earlier, Ukrinform reported that Russian forces have started attacking northern Sumy region using not only sabotage and reconnaissance groups but also small infantry units.
