
President Volodymyr Zelensky met with Austrian Foreign Ministers Beate Meinl-Reisinger and Portugal’s Foreign Minister Paulo Rangel to discuss the restoration of Ukraine’s energy infrastructure and defense support.

Among the issues discussed at the meeting was the Food from Ukraine humanitarian, support the construction of school shelters and reconstruction of schools affected by war.
Zelensky thanked both states for helping Ukrainians in its fight for freedom, praised their unwavering support on the path to the European Union, as well as for their warm attitude toward war-displaced Ukrainians.
He briefed the two foreign ministers on the meeting of Ukrainian and American teams in Jedda and efforts that are being made to bring a just and lasting peace closer.
“Ukraine is ready to take the first quick steps to achieve peace and is doing everything possible for this,” the President stressed.
The President’s Office added that further support within the bilateral security agreement with Portugal was part of the meeting’s agenda.
As Zelensky stated, Ukraine is interested in obtaining assistance in developing its domestic defense industry and is counting on the financial participation of Portugal in the Czech initiative for the purchase of artillery rounds.
Austria proposed to launch a dialogue on a bilateral agreement on long-term support of Ukraine. The content of the agreement, he said, will not be in conflict with the country’s neutral status.
As Ukrinform reported earlier, Austria will provide another EUR 2 million for the Grain from Ukraine initiative.
