Deputy chief of the Presidential Office Ihor Zhovkva said the issue of the Rare Earth Metals Agreement was one of the topics raised at the negotiations with U.S. administration officials in Saudi Arabia.
Zhovkva reported this on national television, Ukrinform saw.
“The issue was raised during talks. The Ukrainian side once again stressed that by its decision of February 26, the Government of Ukraine approved the text of the agreement draft, as well as the two possible signatories. Therefore, the Ukrainian side stressed it was ready to sign off the deal,” Zhovkva said.
According to the official, the President’s Office does not even rule out the signing in an online format.
“The offline format is on the table. We could meet in the U.S., Ukraine, or a third country. It is possible. Alsl, there’s an online signature format. The U.S. side has taken note of this information. There is full readiness on the part of Ukraine toward signing a framework agreement. We are ready to develop things at a rapid pace,” he added.
As Ukrinform reported earlier, the Cabinet passed a decision to sign an agreement between Ukraine and the United States on the creation of a reconstruction investment fund. The agreement will include six key positions.
