Russia claims attack by over 120 drones

Russia’s Ministry of Defense reported that at nighttime, on March 15, Russia was attacked by dozens of drones, 126 of which were allegedly “intercepted and destroyed.”

The BBS Russian Service reports this, as per Ukrinform.

According to the ministry’s report, 64 UAVs were destroyed over Volgograd region, 38 over Belgorod region, seven over Bryansk region, two over Rostov region, and one over Kursk region.

Russia’s aviation authority, Rosaviatsiya, announced that restrictions were imposed at airports in Volgograd and Saratov.

The Telegram channel Baza reported that one of the drones was allegedly shot down near the Sarepta station, where a fire began. The target of the attack may have been a nearby oil refinery, according to the report.

As reported by Ukrinform, the Russian Ministry of Defense stated that on March 11, Russia was attacked by hundreds of drones, of which they allegedly managed to shoot down 337.

Also, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that on March 11, units of the UAV systems and Special Operations Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, together with the Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) and the Ministry of Defense’s Main Intelligence Directorate (HUR), in cooperation with other branches of the Defense Forces, struck a number of strategic facilities in Russia that are involved in supporting the armed aggression against Ukraine.
