The Rzeszow-Jasionka hub, a key transit point for military aid to Ukraine, has resumed normal operations after a weeklong disruption.
Polish Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz said this at a press conference on Tuesday, March 18, according to Ukrinform.
“We are closely monitoring the aid flowing into Ukraine through the Rzeszow airport and the POLLOG HUB in Jasionka. The hub has returned to its normal rhythm, and the situation is now at a different level compared to last week’s suspension of military aid deliveries. Full access to intelligence information has also been restored, which we greatly appreciate,” Kosiniak-Kamysz said.
When asked about expectations for the scheduled phone call between U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian leader Vladimir Putin, he said he hopes for positive results but remains cautious.
Kosiniak-Kamysz also noted that allies who participated in a video conference on Ukraine last Saturday viewed last week’s U.S.-Ukraine negotiations in Jeddah positively.
“All leaders saw the U.S.-Ukraine agreement as a step in the right direction. Today, the U.S. and Ukraine stand on one side, while the opponent is on the other. Now, the ball is in Russia’s court,” the Polish minister said.
Approximately 90% of all international military aid for Ukraine is routed through the Jasionka hub.
Earlier, Trump announced that he would speak with Putin on Tuesday morning about the war in Ukraine, stating that while many elements of a final peace agreement have been agreed upon, much work remains to be done.
