President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky is having a phone conversation with US President Donald Trump.
This was reported by the President’s spokesman Serhiy Nikiforov, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“The President of Ukraine is having a telephone conversation with US President Donald Trump,” Nikiforov said.
The conversation was also reported by the White House.
“Happening Now—President Trump is in the Oval Office on a call with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy of Ukraine,” Deputy White House Chief of Staff Dan Scavino said on the official X network page.
Details of the communication between the two leaders are not specified.
The conversation between Presidents Trump and Zelensky comes a day after the US president spoke on the phone with Russian leader Putin. On Tuesday, they discussed issues related to peace in Ukraine.
As Ukrinform reported, following Tuesday’s conversation, the Trump administration said that the Russian side agreed to a limited ceasefire on energy and infrastructure facilities in Ukraine as part of an initiative proposed by the United States to establish peace in Ukraine.
Zelensky, speaking to the media today together with Finnish President Alexander Stubb, said that Russia cannot be trusted, as it shelled Ukraine’s energy and civilian infrastructure immediately after the announcement of the agreement between US President Donald Trump and Russian ruler Vladimir Putin to end reciprocal air strikes.
