Ukrainian boxer Volodymyr Mandziuk killed in action

Volodymyr Mandziuk, a boxer, sports master, and Ukrainian Armed Forces serviceman, was killed in action.

The Ukrainian Boxing Association shared the news on Facebook, as reported by Ukrinform.

“Volodymyr Mandziuk, call sign Vokha, is returning home to Ternopil ‘on a shield’. A master of sports in boxing, a student of the Ring club, a multiple champion and medalist of national and international tournaments, and a champion of Ukraine among students. A fighter in the ring, a fearless warrior on the battlefield,” the message reads.

The association noted that Volodymyr was a true man — honest, reliable, and sincere. He loved life, had big dreams, high goals, and significant achievements. He was respected by his friends, valued by his comrades, and served as a model of spirit strength for the youth.

Mandziuk joined the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in autumn 2024.

The serviceman died in battle on April 9, the funeral will take place in Ternopil on April 13.

Earlier, Ukrinform reported the death of Taras Tsushko, an outstanding mountaineer, sports master, and serviceman of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, who was killed while carrying out a combat mission.
