The Holy Fire has arrived in Ukraine, on Easter night it was met by border guards at the international checkpoint “Ustyluh”.
According to Ukrinform, this was reported on Facebook by the Western Regional Directorate of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.
It is noted that the shrine arrived from Warsaw, and the border guards ensured the fast and safe passage of the fire across the state border.
From the Ukrainian-Polish border, the Holy Fire is heading to Kyiv, from where it will travel all over Ukraine to churches, monasteries and parishes in different regions. “Many churches are already preparing to welcome it so that everyone can light a candle from this shrine and bring its warmth to their own homes,” the border guards added.
As reported by Ukrinform, on the eve of Orthodox Easter, on Saturday, April 19, the Holy Fire descended in the Church of the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem.
