Russian forces are attempting to clear a crossing over the Chornyi Zherebets river of destroyed equipment remnants during the so-called “Easter truce” in preparation for new assault operations.

Photos confirming this activity were published on Telegram by the 66th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after Prince Mstyslav the Brave of the Ukrainian Ground Forces.

According to the brigade, “the enemy is setting up routes for the passage of heavy equipment under the cover of the so-called ‘Easter truce’.”

On April 9, servicemen of the 66th Brigade destroyed a KRVK complex – a road-laying system based on a KamAZ truck – effectively blocking the crossing and preventing Russian armored vehicles from advancing.

“On April 20, Russian forces began clearing the crossing using over ten personnel and a specialized machine to remove the remnants of the destroyed system,” the post states.

The brigade’s aerial reconnaissance continues to monitor enemy’s activity closely.

Also, the Ukrainian defenders reported an increase in Russian infantry assault attempts on positions held by one of its battalions.

As reported by Ukrinform, following the morning briefing by Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi, President Zelensky noted that Russia is attempting to create the general impression of a ceasefire, but in some areas, it is continuing to make isolated attempts to advance and inflict losses on Ukraine.

This comes after Russian President Vladimir Putin announced Easter ceasefire on April 19.
