
On Monday morning, Russian troops attacked a private household in a village within the Esman community of the Sumy region, killing a man.
The head of the local community, Serhii Minakov, told this to Suspilne, Ukrinform reports.
He stated that the shelling began at around 09:00.
“As a result of [a shell] hitting a nearby house, it caught fire. A man came out to extinguish the flames, and the Russian forces struck again. The deceased was born in 1959,” Minakov said.
Earlier reports said that Russian forces had attacked a local administration in the Sumy urban community, damaging a residential building.
It was also reported that during the night and into the morning, Russian forces carried out 52 attacks on border areas and settlements in the Sumy region. A total of 106 explosions were recorded. The communities affected included Yunakivka, Myropillia, Krasnopillia, Hlukhiv, Shalyhyne, Esman, Svesa, and Seredyna-Buda.
