Ukrainian forces down 37 Russian drones overnight, 47 vanish from radar

Ukrainian forces shot down 37 Russian drones on the night of April 28-29, while 47 decoy drones vanished from radar screens and failed to reach their targets.

The Ukrainian Air Force Command said this in a post on Facebook, according to Ukrinform.

“As of 08:30, 37 strike UAVs of the Shahed type (and other types) have been confirmed shot down over the east, north, south, and center of the country. An additional 47 enemy decoy drones disappeared from radar screens without causing any damage. As a result of the enemy attack, the Kharkiv, Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, and Kyiv regions sustained damage,” the Air Force said.

According to the military, starting from 23:00 on April 28, Russian forces attacked Ukraine with 100 strike UAVs and decoy drones launched from the areas of Kursk, Millerovo, Oryol, Bryansk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk (Russia), and Chauda (Crimea).

The enemy’s air assault was repelled by Ukrainian aviation, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare systems, and mobile fire teams of the Defense Forces.
